What You'll Do

Epic Games is looking for a Senior Systems Designer to join our team working on LEGO Fortnite experiences. In this role, you’ll work with the team to execute on the intended gameplay to delight and engage players. Systems Designers at Epic are part of a cross-discipline development team that keeps a critical eye on the implementation of features and content that expand the LEGO Fortnite universe.

In this role, you will

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and team members from various disciplines to execute on the intended gameplay of LEGO Fortnite experiences and uphold Epic’s design and gameplay quality bar
  • Help define better live ops tools for adjusting and balancing live games
  • Utilizing systems, tools and process design, ensure a good end-user experience while producing quality documentation
  • Create, contribute to, and supervise a set of clear, structured content tracking sheets
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to guide features to final implementation, providing feedback and design input throughout the process
  • Keep a critical eye on quality for both the implementation of in-game content, as well as that of our internal tickets and trackers
  • Collaborate with a variety of disciplines to ensure features are coming together well and are well-balanced

What we're looking for

  • Advanced level of game design experience with an emphasis in systems design, game creation tools and user experience
  • Experience on live service games
  • Experience with good development tools and practices for live products
  • Demonstrable proficiency in written communication and a track record of effectively conveying your design through documentation
  • Solution-oriented problem solver who can react quickly to changing project needs
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience guiding collaboration across diverse disciplines
  • Ability to work well with other departments
  • Professional experience working with game engines would be ideal

This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA, NYC, & WA).

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

New York City Base Pay Range

$180,668$264,980 USD

California Base Pay Range

$158,988$233,182 USD

Washington Base Pay Range

$151,761$222,583 USD
