Description:
The Strategy and Market Intelligence Manager is pivotal in supporting our North American (NAM) business teams and the Global Market Intelligence (GMI) teams across our international organization. This seasoned market research leadership position requires active engagement and participation in cross-functional teams, leveraging deep market analysis expertise and a comprehensive understanding ofour organization's strategy, products, and market fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities and Activities Include:
- Market Insights: Deliver strategic insights to the North American Polypropylene (PP) business teams, analyzing both short-term and long-term market dynamics.
- Strategic Presentations: Develop and support presentations on strategic topics and market/business intelligence analysis for the business.
- Business Development: Assist in business development initiatives and analyses in collaboration with the NAM and Corporate M&A teams.
- Global Support: Contribute to the broader Global Market Intelligence function through monthly calls, the annual planning cycle, and trend and budget price projections.
- Trend Analysis: Provide global business teams with weekly and monthly NAM PP market insights and trend analysis.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Actively participate in cross-functional teams to develop and execute business strategies aligned with our strategic goals.
- Global Market Outlook: Collaborate with the Global Market Intelligence team to develop and communicate global market outlooks for C2/PE, C3/PP, and feedstocks to the NAM organization and Braskem SA.
- Project Management: Lead and implement special projects to enhance and improve market intelligence reporting and analysis functions.
Job Duties:
- Market Intelligence Management: Work with the Global Market Intelligence team to manage, develop, and monitor key market intelligence insights.
- Communication: Attend weekly/monthly GMI team meetings to share market insights and analysis.
- Strategic Planning: Gather, analyze, and summarize recommendations for business strategy plans.
- Strategic Support: Provide ad hoc presentations to support business teams, present market scenarios, and track market direction.
- Market Dynamics: Understand market dynamics, competitive landscape, and economic drivers for growth.
- Business Cases: Develop business cases and market intelligence for M&A and other development opportunities.
- Planning Cycle: Support the planning cycle for short and long-term price forecasts and market outlooks.
- Forecast Presentations: Create and deliver monthly and annual forecast presentations.
- Supply/Demand Modeling: Maintain PE and PP supply/demand models by consolidating data and analyzing results.
- Senior Management Reporting: Design and produce analyses and reports for senior management
Requirements:
- A BS Degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant experience is highly desirable.
- Effectively collaborate with colleagues across departments, including commercial, feedstocks, Corporate Strategy & Market Intelligence, and leadership teams.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present information concisely to senior management.
- Expertise in fundamental market analysis methodologies (supply/demand, price setting mechanisms).
- Extract, organize, analyze, and report data to support business decisions using consultant tools (CMA, Platts, ICIS, AFPM, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Access.
- Experience with finance and forecasting models.
