Ready to shape breakthrough brand strategies that live at the intersection of culture and commerce? We're looking for a Senior Strategist who can transform consumer truths into game-changing creative platforms for the Netherlands' most ambitious brands.

The Role

As Senior Strategist at Monks, you'll craft strategies that make brands matter in both culture and commerce. Working across our portfolio, including a major retail account in the Netherlands, you'll shape work that drives both emotional connection and business impact.

What You'll Do

  • Lead strategic direction for an iconic retail brand and create strategies and playbooks that elevate their brand presence. 
  • Lead research and discovery to generate insights; identify emerging trends; ask the right critical questions through research and client conversations. 
  • Translate consumer insights into creative platforms that drive business results across different touchpoints. 
  • You’ll know how to craft compelling strategies and creative briefs unlocked by data and truths, and have an appetite for finding creative opportunities.
  • Create strategic frameworks that elevate brands across channels. You’ll be fluent across ATL and digital and social channels, and be able to map complete customer engagement journeys.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise in trends, culture and technology; sharing your insights with the team, to add to the collective knowledge.
  • Design and run inspiring workshops that push both client and agency teams to think bigger
  • Support new business initiatives and pitch development
  • Help raise strategic literacy across the wider Monks organisation through knowledge sharing and case studies

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years' experience leading brand and campaign strategy, with strong retail sector expertise
  • Fluent Dutch speaker who understands local market nuances
  • Sharp strategic mind that can identify opportunities others miss
  • Digital-first thinking – you get that brands live through experiences, not just brand books
  • Talent for turning complex ideas into clear, compelling presentations
  • Experience with retail strategy 
  • Experience with government/public sector work is a plus

The Team

You'll join our multidisciplinary strategy team in Amsterdam, collaborating with creatives, producers, and client leads to deliver work that lives at the intersection of culture, commerce, and technology.
