Job Title: Senior Staff Software Engineer - ChatIT

Roles & responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Staff Software Engineer with demonstrated experience developing Chatbots. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions using knowledge stored in ServiceNow and Azure to provide our people access to a chatbot within Microsoft Teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in both platforms and a passion for innovation with an ability to drive creative solutions from a team of developers.
- Own and develop technical strategy and guidance, overseeing medium to complex engineering initiatives.
- Lead the development of strategic programs of work, including Proof of Concept developments.
- Contribute to and direct strategic programs of work.
- Utilise strong understanding of core business and technical strategies to deliver best business outcomes through technology.
- Provide thought leadership across projects and delivery teams.
- Lead and champion strategic practice development within team or platform.
- Set technical direction on projects within business unit.
- Role model best practices and industry standards.
- Take responsibility for nominated technical assets related to areas of expertise including roadmaps and technical direction.
- Mentor and up-skill other engineering teams across different crews.
- Participate and act as an SME in internal online discussion around software engineering, delivery and technology (such as knowledge uplift)
- Guide multiple teams on complex troubleshooting activity.
Essential skills:
- 12+ Years of experience of experience in relevant field.
- Deep experience with Azure Bot Framework, including Bot Framework SDK, Bot Framework Composer, and Azure Cognitive Services.
- Highly proficient in DevSecOps.
- Experienced in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Proficient in both C# (.NET 8) and Python.
- Extensive experience in developing Gen-AI driven chatbots using Azure solutions, including Azure Bot Services and Bot Framework or equivalence on AWS.
- Proficient in the development of voice-based chatbots and IVR solutions.
- Highly proficient in state-of-the-art RAG techniques (including Graph-RAG) and leveraging local LLMs, HuggingFace, LangChain, LLamaIndex, and multi-modal LLMs
- Cross-Team leadership. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor engineers and collaborate with product and security teams.
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
