About This Role:

At Crusoe, our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and operational excellence of our critical infrastructure. We are dedicated to building and maintaining highly available and resilient systems that power Crusoe's innovative solutions. SREs at Crusoe play a crucial role in detecting, analyzing, and preventing issues that may impact our customers, while continuously improving our operational practices and driving automation.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Monitor and maintain the availability, performance, and capacity of our production systems.

  • Analyze system performance metrics and identify potential bottlenecks or areas for improvement.

  • Develop and implement solutions to improve system reliability, availability, and performance.

  • Participate in on-call rotations to respond to and resolve production issues.

  • Automate routine operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.

  • Develop and maintain tools and scripts to automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and management.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of our monitoring and alerting systems.

  • Participate in incident response drills and real-time incident response activities.

  • Conduct thorough post-mortem analyses of incidents to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences.

  • Drive continuous improvement in our incident response processes.

  • Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to ensure that their applications are designed and built for reliability and operability.

  • Provide guidance and best practices to software engineers on topics such as system design, deployment, and monitoring.

  • Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • 5+ years of professional SRE experience and 5+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems.

  • Solid understanding of infrastructure design principles, including the operational trade-offs of various design choices.

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, or similar) for automation and scripting.

  • Experience with modern infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Terraform.

  • Experience with modern CI/CD practices and build systems, such as GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions.

  • Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting systems and tools.

  • Strong understanding of Unix/Linux environments and TCP/IP networking.

  • Experience with information security best practices.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 8+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.

  • Experience with chaos engineering and resiliency testing.

Compensation:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $183,000 - $210,000 base salary. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
