The Exploration Team is a new team within Credit Karma that has focused on accelerating emerging technologies, developing new experiences, and craft visionary narratives. In this role, you join a small team of designers that continue to contribute to Credit Karma business and strategy.
What you will do:
- Apply strategic thinking to design and deliver innovative end-to-end user experiences that optimize among user needs, business goals, and technological realities across web & mobile platforms
- Take ideas and concepts, and visualize them into narratives that can be communicated effectively and compellingly for internal leaders and partners
- Turn visions into concepts and translate those concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity, despite complexity of the system
- Build experiences that bring concepts to life through the use of motion and complex prototypes
- Collaborate effectively with researchers, product management, development, marketing, and other team members
- Use facilitative leadership skills to drive to the best outcome for stakeholders, resulting in others learning from you, and inspiring others to want to work with you
What we are looking for:
- 10+ years of interface design experience in delivering high-volume, high-profile or award-winning web sites or products; preferably experience with mobile products
- Expert knowledge driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research
- Deep knowledge of user experience methods, innovation, ideation, storytelling, prototyping, design frameworks, concept visualization, problem-framing skills and design principles
- Passion for visual design evolution while leveraging marketing brand guidelines.
- Experience working at the intersection of Product Design and Brand Marketing to craft the product visual design into an expert representation of the Credit Karma brand
- Proven track record of several projects that have shipped and made significant impact on business metrics
- Exemplary ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams/groups/functions through facilitative leadership to deliver great results and to "raise the bar" continually as an effective leader of positive change
- Effective communicator and presenter
- Organized, self-directed, efficient and able to manage multiple and complex projects in a timely manner with partners

Pay Transparency Notice:
Credit Karma’s mission of championing financial progress for all starts from within. That’s why we implemented role-based compensation, which ensures people who are in the same role receive the same pay with variations for geographic location only. It’s all part of a more comprehensive DEI strategy that helps level the playing field. The base salary range for this role is $330,000 - $357,939, plus equity and benefits.
