The Role

WRSTBND is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in New Orleans, LA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As part of our finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, overseeing reconciliations, and preparing financial reports that support both internal decision-making and regulatory compliance. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team while playing a key role in financial reporting and process improvements.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the monthly accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate general ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies through reclassifications and adjustments.
  • Prepare accrual journal entries for month-end close, ensuring expenses and revenues are properly recorded.
  • Generate financial reports and performance metrics, providing insights into trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

What You’ll Bring

  • 4-6 years of accounting experience with a strong foundation in GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, etc.) and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and variances.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and presenting financial insights.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience in the entertainment, sports, or live events industry.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
  • Prior experience working with ERP systems or financial process automation.

Pay Scale:

We provide a competitive salary with annual bonus eligibility. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining final salary. This role is also eligible for health insurance, 401K, life insurance and disability benefits, and paid time off for sick leave, parental leave, vacation, and PTO.
