As a senior specialist, you will play a critical role for Best Buy Canada’s Communication department. You will be responsible for planning and executing social impact events and national initiatives to engage employees and increase awareness and recognition of Best Buy’s commitment to community.

In this role, the successful candidate is needed to be in the greater Vancouver, BC area, where we practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the planning and tactical execution of social impact events and programs, including budget management, relationship management with external partners and onsite event management
  • Support stores and provide counsel on how to engage in their local communities through store donations and employee volunteerism
  • Collaborate with the team and support the execution of Best Buy’s social impact national initiatives including grants, donations and ongoing community programs
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders including merchants and retail operations to execute major campaigns and adhoc donation requests and events
  • Identify opportunities to promote social impact initiatives through internal, PR, social media and marketing channels to build awareness and drive employee engagement
  • Connect team members and support sustainability progress across the org to ensure efficiency, momentum and success of cross-functional initiatives
  • Be comfortable as a spokesperson in all media channels
  • Provide media relations support through story generation, writing and editing media materials

What we’re looking for:

  • 4+ years of Communications experience in a deadline driven, multi- stakeholder, fast paced environment.
  • Business experience, collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills

$74,000.00 - $80,000.00

Starting pay offered will consider skills and experience. Your pay can grow as you build your career with us.
