About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Talent Management North America (NA), this role will work to implement talent management strategies, policies, and processes that drive the achievement of strategic objectives and maximize human potential across the organization. This role will be responsible for supporting succession planning, performance management, development/ career planning, talent programs, and talent analytics. This role will foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the organization by supporting with training programs and initiatives for Magna Powertrain (MPT) by designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs aimed at enhancing the skills, knowledge, and performance of employees.
Your Responsibilities

  • Recommends, designs, and standardizes MPT global Talent Management programs, key processes, and services while supporting the execution in the North America region and local needs of Magna/MPT training and development activities.
  • Ensure that MPT Talent Management activities - Talent Review Meetings (TRM), performance management, succession planning, talent nominations, and talent development - are implemented and supported in area of responsibility to improve leadership bench strength.
  • Actively partners with HR Business Partners and assigned region during the roll-out, execution and implementation phases Talent Management programs.
  • Support the creation, preparation and execution of leadership development activities and programs.
  • Actively supports, suggests, and recommends improvements and development of all related programs and processes for Talent Management and Organizational Development (OD) to ensure Best-in-Class services and expertise are created and supplied.
  • Trusted Business Advisor for NA Leadership and HR team members to identify and address workforce development needs.
  • Serves as the point of contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MPT Talent Management programs and key processes for assigned region.
  • Drives comprehensive training and development initiatives, conducting thorough needs assessments and designing tailored programs. Delivers engaging training sessions using varied formats and materials, while continuously evaluating effectiveness and ensures compliance with organizational standards.
  • Stays updated on industry trends and best practices in talent development and integrating innovative approaches into development programs.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned at management's discretion.


Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, or related field of study desired.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, Learning & Development, or a related field, with a demonstrated track record of at least 5-7 years in learning and development, leadership assessment, talent management, and strategic/tactical human resources management. Prior experience in these areas is preferred.
  • Some manufacturing environment exposure preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in creating, administrating and sustaining talent management processes, including learning and development and succession planning systems.
  • Develops unique training programs to fulfill workers' specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Expertise in leading global cross-functional projects, teams and organizations.


Your preferred qualifications

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, talent management, and organizational behavior.
  • Experience with HRIS System - Workday an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
