The principal responsibility of this role is to provide operational expertise within a multi-disciplined technical team. As Wood Mackenzie transitions more services to the cloud this will involve supporting a wide variety of technologies and ways of working in the cloud. Working in partnership with technology teams across the globe the role encompasses:
- Ability to keep up to date with technology trends and to understand key technical drivers in the industry
- Implementation, maintain and operate on premise and cloud-based Network
- Promotion of automation
- A strong focus on service availability and proactive detection of problems
Main Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage the Network technology stack across a geographically dispersed organisation
- Support and improve operational tasks covering monitoring and alerting, and incident resolution
- Maintain security of the Network environments on premise and Cloud
- Assist technology drive to cloud managed Network environment through the automation of Network tasks
General Support
- Role will be part of a wider technology team to provide support and advice to other technology teams and business projects
- Role will require you to respond to Incidents and Requests escalated by Service Desk or System monitor alerts.
- Role holder will need to maintain technical Knowledge-Base documentation.
- Role will require you to liaise with Third Party Support Companies and Service Providers
Essential Skills
- The successful candidate will have a solid technical background with experience working in a Network role with an IT service department.
- Accomplished analytical & decision-making skills
- Experience of Cisco, Dell, HPE Aruba, Fortinet networking technologies
- Familiar with MPLS, Zscaler and SD Wan networking technologies
- Knowledge of IT Security fundamental concepts and practices
