A Brief Overview
This role is responsible for co-leading digital philanthropic efforts though web-based properties; building and managing CHOP's philanthropic presence on our internal websites, our various event sites as well as future microsites that work to fulfill CHOP's philanthropic mission as well as advancing new technologies that elevate the way people interact online with philanthropy.
This position will support the Foundation in significantly expanding unrestricted revenue. Web projects will support all levels of the donor giving pyramid, and will span lead acquisition, engagement, fundraising and stewardship.
This position will collaborate closely with stakeholders throughout Foundation programs, vendors, and partners in the Marketing and DTS departments. This position is part of the Foundation's Strategy & Technology team, requiring close collaboration with the departments that maintain the Foundation platforms, as well as the data and reporting teams.
By managing the web channel for the Foundation, the Senior Philanthropic Solutions Architect is key for CHOP to extend its cutting-edge and innovative philanthropic reputation to the web experiences. This requires providing our web audiences with interactive content, intuitive user experience, and individualized donor experience, with the technical infrastructure to support the automation and reporting needs of the Foundation.
What you will do

  • Implement solutions that prioritize security, accessibility, and user-centric design, aligning with philanthropic engagement goals
  • Apply data-driven insights to enhance user experience and optimize donation platforms
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration & teams, collaborating with marketing, IT, and data teams to align digital strategies with organizational goals and leveraging emerging technologies to enhance digital engagement
  • Design scalable, high-performing web platforms with a strong focus on SEO, AI-driven indexing, and headless architecture
  • Implement and manage automated engagement campaigns
  • Manage and oversee/implement enhancements to the Foundation’s web sites (Drupal, WordPress)
  • Architect and manage Foundation web platforms (Classy, DonorDrive)
  • Solutions design and architecture
  • Work with Senior Tech Team to develop and standardize platform integrations
  • Track, report, and optimize user experience, donor journeys and conversion metrics
  • Manage SEO and AI-driven indexing streamlining data flows across channels to drive organic reach and accessibility
  • Oversee/develop web and mobile applications for Foundation purposes
  • Full-Stack development and web enhancements
  • Maintain, manage, and advance analytics (Matomo, Google Analytics)
  • Salesforce Personalization tool strategy and management
  • Lead data-driven donation page optimization
  • Collaboration on cross-channel automation and reporting
  • Strategic leadership in emerging technologies
  • Documentation and best practices
  • Collaborate with DTS on development and security standards and best practices
  • Ad hoc requests for other web properties that are largely maintained by program stakeholders
  • Ad hoc email development

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least ten (10) years of digital platforms, content management systems, web development and/or solutions architecture experience Required
  • At least seven (7) years of business analytics and/or data science experience Preferred
  • At least three (3) years of project leadership, management or supervisory experience Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced proficiency with web solutions architecture and full-stack development, including front-end (CSS, HTML, JavaScript) and middleware and server frameworks (.NET, JSON), and back-end (SQL, Python) technologies
  • Advanced proficiency with program languages (CSS, HTML, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, Python)
  • Advanced proficiency with CRM systems and cross-channel personalization tools (Salesforce, Marketing Cloud)
  • Advanced proficiency with web data and analytics platforms (Matomo, Google Analytics)
  • Advanced proficiency with donor engagement and philanthropic tools (Classy, DonorDrive, Ovrture)
  • Advanced knowledge of cross-channel personalization and automation strategies
  • Advanced knowledge of digital fundraising, philanthropic engagement, and tailoring digital solutions to the unique needs of the nonprofit sector
