Senior Software Verification Engineer (m/f/d)
We are looking for an experienced Senior W Verification Engineer (m/f/d) for our Verification & Validation group, which is part of the international R&D Team in Munich.
You will be working on a Top 1, fast-paced, highly prioritized cross-disciplinary new product development project, developing a Heart-Lung Machine used for life support during heart surgery with a complex, software- and hardware-based set of functionalities.
You are used to working with cross-functional teams to provide verification subsystems & systems level expertise and solutions to requirements, testing and process problems, including documental structure for regulatory submission (FDA, MDR).
Your clinical/therapeutic understanding spans from system/product level down to subsystem and component level.
The position offers the rare opportunity to provide the future framework of requirements engineering and verification & validation activities for all R&D projects in Munich and prepares you for perhaps taking on a leading role in our organization.
Role Main Responsibilities
- Develop concrete verification strategies for medical devices with a focus on software-driven electromechanical components at sub-system and system level and re-use these to build up the future V&V framework for R&D
- Create, review, and optimize reusable test cases by developing test environments and scenarios.
- Design test fixtures based on the Design Input requirements.
- Write and review verification test protocols, by selecting and using effective tools, methods, and applicable test standards.
- Create detailed verification tests schedule and ensure timely execution.
- Create analytical models and analysis to support verification
- Developing statistical sample justifications and test method validations
- Interact with cross functional team members to ensure risk/safety mitigation tests
- Perform testing activities and data analysis using needed statistical techniques
What are we looking for
- Master’s degree in (medical) engineering or a related field
- Several years of experience in similar roles, preferably accrued in medical devices companies
- Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
- Self-Starter, self-motivated, hands-on person
- Working knowledge of automated requirements and test management tools such as Polarion, Doors, etc.
- Experience on leading solutions related to testing for Electrical and Mechanical design as well as respective requirements in MDR and 510(k)
- Experience in IEC 60601-1 and IEC 62304 is a plus
- Experience with CAN-Bus communication
- Experience with Vector tools: CANoe, CAPL, VTestStudio
- Experience with Test Automation
- A team player ready to take on a large responsibility and with very good oral and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English, spoken and written - German is a big plus
