Your Mission:


As a Senior Software Reverse Engineer at ClearEdge, your mission is to leverage your extensive expertise to analyze and reverse-engineer highly complex software and systems. Your work will provide critical insights into functionality, behavior, and vulnerabilities, driving proactive cybersecurity measures and strengthening threat detection capabilities.

A Day in the Life:

  • Perform advanced static and dynamic analysis of hardware, firmware, and software using a wide array of tools and techniques.
  • Document malware behaviors and patterns, contributing to threat intelligence repositories with actionable insights.
  • Write comprehensive technical reports, detailing findings and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Develop or enhance tools and frameworks to optimize malware analysis workflows.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in cybersecurity, including the latest tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) employed by adversaries.

Must Have:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
  • 20+ years of experience in software analysis, reverse engineering, or related cybersecurity disciplines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Deep knowledge of low-level programming languages, including C, C++, and Assembly.
  • Proficiency with reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, OllyDbg, or x64dbg.
  • Expertise in debugging and disassembly techniques.
  • Strong understanding of operating system internals across Windows, Linux, and macOS platforms.
  • Experience with virtualization and sandbox environments, such as VMware or VirtualBox, for dynamic analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication abilities for presenting technical findings clearly and effectively.
  • Proven ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to tackling complex challenges.

Nice to Have:

  • Expertise in malware types (viruses, worms, ransomware, trojans) and their respective attack vectors.
  • Familiarity with obfuscation techniques and anti-reverse engineering methods commonly used by adversaries.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and traffic analysis to interpret malware communication behaviors.
  • Relevant certifications, such as OSCP, GREM, CEH, or other industry-recognized cybersecurity credentials.
