Job Title: Senior Software Manager
Location: Bangalore
Business & Team: The role sits within the Bankwest Technology division. Bankwest is a subsidiary of The Commonwealth Bank, and the Bankwest Technology division (BWT) is accountable for maintaining system resilience and supporting the delivery of our bold technology strategy at pace and scale.
Bankwest Technology consists of Platforms and Chapters underpinned by areas of expertise that manage Bankwest technology, applications and systems to support the Bankwest business. Bankwest Technology is located primarily in Bankwest Place in Perth, WA and has a total approx. 650 employees.

Roles & responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer:
- Apply the principles of design, development, testing, deployment, support, and evaluation.
- Develop and deploy high quality software solutions with comprehensive test coverage without supervision.
- Analyze business objectives and translate requirements to technical implementation components.
- Design and build programs or application features meeting business objective and requirements.
- Provide accurate estimates for the development effort for new features.
- Provide technical support and assistance to other non-technical members of the team.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Contribute to support and technical troubleshooting activity.
- Identify and contribute code-level changes which improve the reliability of application and infrastructure services that our builder and operational teams are accountable for.
- Identify and contribute robust, high-quality code-level changes to the processes and tooling used by our builder and operational teams, improving the observability of the services which they are accountable for.
- Identify and contribute code-level changes which drive down the operational toil and reduce the technical debt associated with the services that a team is accountable for.
- Identify and contribute code-level changes which improve the application and/or infrastructure design and architecture for services that a team is accountable for.
- Stakeholder Management – communication with a range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical at all levels, including explaining complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.
- Risk Mindset – All Bankwest employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
- Tooling and Automation – security tool like SonarQube, Checkmarx, Aqua, Twistlock.
- Collaboration & training - educate teams on DevSecops best practices.

Essential Skills:-
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience with expert level knowledge, working with the following languages.
- Experience leading a high-performing engineering team with a solid technical background in developing web applications and APIs using .NET.
- Strong scripting skills (using PowerShell, TypeScript, Python, Bash or similar language)
- Experience with database design and optimization techniques
- Excellent understanding of micro services architecture and API design patterns
- Working knowledge of public cloud engineering – AWS preferred
- Promote DevOps culture of CI/CD pipelines and Automation supported by world-class tools
- Overseeing the governance, compliance, and operational health of services Angular or equivalent Frontend technology
- Software engineering, expert in at least one Programming language (e.g., Golang, Python)
- Strong experience with modern software development practices using tools such as git for source control, and CI/CD tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy or similar; Strong public cloud experience in AWS , GCP or Azure
- Experience leading teams of engineers driving outcomes using observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, AppDynamics,
- Extensive and in-depth knowledge of Linux internals, networking, containers, and troubleshooting
- Excellent communication skills
- Banking domain is advantageous

Educational Qualification:
