About the Job
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and architecting solutions and backend services that power Daily Wire apps and Bentkey. Your in-depth knowledge of backend and frontend technologies such as Golang, PostgreSQL, NextJS/React, Redis, AWS, Terraform, and Docker will contribute to new product innovations that create immersive and seamless content experiences for millions of viewers.

Responsibilities
• Architect, design, and execute scalable and efficient backend systems using Go(Golang) as the primary programming language
• Lead and develop web client applications with a focus on Next.js, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Optimize application performance and reliability through continuous integration, testing, and refactoring
• Ensure consistency in functionality and user experience across mobile, OTT (over-the-tv), and web platforms, working closely with designers and product managers
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement
• Conduct code reviews, design discussions, and architecture planning to maintain high-quality, scalable solutions
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, driving innovative solutions to enhance system performance and resilience
• Implement tagging strategies for cost analysis and optimization, ensuring efficient resource utilization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust solutions that meet business requirements
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements to existing systems and processes
Experience & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience developing full-stack solutions, with an emphasis on backend and web development
• Proficiency with Node.js and experience with API-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration tools such as ECS and Kubernetes
• Proficiency in Go is highly preferred or expertise in similar languages such as Java, Kotlin, Rust, or Python
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
• Exceptional problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineers
• Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate
