The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for  designing, developing, and maintaining software and system architecture. The candidate will break down high-level objectives, write maintainable code, conduct code reviews, and troubleshoot complex issues. Strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, React.js, cloud architectures, and agile methodologies is required. The ideal candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication for cross-functional collaboration. and will be located in Bangalore location on Hybrid.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

The Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, reviewing and maintaining software, and overall system architecture, as well as providing technical feedback and sharing knowledge.
 

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Break down high-level objectives into specific software development tasks and follow through on their execution

• High level understating and reviewing of epics and user stories. Breaking down of user stories to development tasks and estimating those stories

• Create feasibility analysis and provide accurate effort estimates. Ownership to develop plan and deliver to meet schedule and quality expectation of product owner

• Write code that is easy to understand and fits with existing patterns

• Conduct peer code reviews and perform unit and integration testing

• Implement unit testing, documentation of API, integration testing, deployment approach, and maintain programming documentation which include commenting code and user guides

• Analyze, debug and solve complex technical issues and customer escalations

• Provide status updates, and produce high quality deliverables in a timely manner

• Communicate and interact effectively with team members, product owner, QA, support, and other departments within Esko

• Stay current on software technology, concepts and tools, as well as related and competing products

Qualifications And Technical Knowledge

• Engineering degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 6–9 years in Web Development with 3+ years in full-stack development.

• Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, with working experience of React.js.

• Strong understanding and hands on experience of event driven cloud architectures, object-oriented design (OOP), design patterns, and RESTful APIs.

• Strong understanding and application knowledge of cloud services offered by providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Experience with Jenkins and scripting for automated builds and deployments.

• Familiar with agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, GitHub) for version control and task management.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to understand complex technical documentation and collaborate effectively across teams.

• Quick to learn new technologies and adapt to different tech stacks, with flexibility and a technology-agnostic mindset being a plus.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and self-driven learning.
