We are looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our Tactical Systems team. The team works on cutting-edge sensing technologies for government customers and DoD applications.
As part of the team, you will work alongside other experienced scientists and engineers to develop novel solutions to challenging problems: from developing command and control software for our micropowered sensing systems, to deploying web applications for big data analysis and optimization. In this role, you will plan and execute full-stack development, working closely with customers to refine your systems to a fine polish, while working with your fellow employees to meet project objectives, requirements, and schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Develop software architectures and support requirements discovery with customers during project planning phases.
- Perform full-stack web application development. Develop, deploy, and iterate systems into a production environment.
- Development of a network placement optimization system wrapped in a Django-based web application running on serverless infrastructure.
- Supporting reliability of our weather web services on AWS (Node/Thingsboard/AWS) that aggregates thousands of Intellisense’s weather sensors emplaced worldwide.
- Upgrade design, usability and capability of our QT based desktop software/sensor interfaces.
- Develop custom algorithms with unique hardware/software constraints. Explore signal processing and data analysis.
- Communicate and present results clearly and effectively to the end customer
- Be able to discuss and defend ideas to management and multi-discipline teams
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
- BS degree in Computer Science (or related field.)
- 5-8+ years of experience (including years of post-graduate study.)
- Experience with full-stack web application development. Confidence with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are a must.
- Experience with web frameworks and templating engines.
- Experience working with AWS services such as lambda and EC2.
- The ability to plan and deploy a web application from scratch.
- A solid, metrics-based mindset for reliable DevOps.
- Detail oriented on front-end designs with an understanding of what looks good, and what doesn’t, and what a good user experience should be.
People & Communication Skills:
- Ability to present technical concepts and designs to Senior Management and customers.
- Must have excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
Nice To Haves:
- Fluency with python, C, C++.
- Experience developing with Thingsboard.
- Experience developing QT based applications.
- Experience with hardware/software interfaces.
- Strong data visualization skills in a language & toolset of your choice.
- Experience with REST API integration.
- Experience with Linux (Ubuntu).

Pay Range:
$120,000-$165,000
However, base salary for this position will vary based on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
