Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our growing team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the systems that power our software products. This position will be a critical piece of our engineering team, responsible for developing back-end infrastructure and mentoring other back end engineers. This role supports our government and defense team and reports directly to the Director of Product & Engineering, with no direct reports at this time. This team is responsible for delivery of our capabilities to critical teams and organizations inside the federal government, including partners such as the DoD and other government partners.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement server-side applications and services in a secure and scalable manner
- Design distributed systems capable of performing under significant stress at the enterprise level, this includes designing and implementing efficient and extensible services and APIs
- Mentor junior engineers and adjacent members of the team through code reviews, architectural planning meetings, and other technical discussions
- Work closely with adjacent teams, including but not limited to, the front end and product teams, to deliver our products quickly and efficiently
- Advise on code quality standards and best practices in consultation with the organization’s technical leadership
- Provide client support when necessary to assist in deployments
- Provide timely advice to technical leadership on technical changes needed to meet emerging client requirements
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience deploying solutions in cloud environments
- Experience with cloud-based architecture and systems
- Python, Rust, C, and GoLang are preferred coding languages
- Independent personality with the ability to function in a decentralized environment
- Experience implementing SSO and RBAC in distributed applications
- Experience implementing PKI authentication in distributed applications
- US Citizenship due to the nature of the contracts and work associated with the role
Nice-to-haves
- Prior work experience with the US Government
- Masters degree in computer science or related field
- Previously held clearance, heavily preferred
- Experience in cross functionally organized organizations
- Experience with hybrid or remote work

Industries from insurance through to legal are using RikAI to use their documents intuitively.
Upload any document and ask almost any question to get the correct answer without training. To improve results, instead of increasing a “training set”, rewrite questions until they consistently yield the best results.
Lazarus Forms is a general data extraction API that makes cluttered, unstructured PDFs as usable as any JSON. Our form extractor pulls entities, tables, and key value pairs from documents without example forms or training. Recognizing both handwritten and typed text, Lazarus Forms extracts more data and requires even less human intervention. We streamline data intake and transfer processes associated with various types of documents; claims forms, new patient intake, attending physician statements, adjuster reports, lab results, ACORDs, and anything that can fit in a PDF.
