CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Principal Frontend Engineer who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!

Responsibilities:

  • Guide, support and mentor junior developers on proper software development procedures and methods
  • Solve complex technical problems and transform them into business solutions
  • Lead code and design reviews
  • Full stack design and development with a focus on maintainability, usability, scalability and performance
  • Work with product managers to learn the future business direction with the goal of architecting the platform optimally
  • Collaborate with other technical leads and stakeholders to develop project plans and participate in resource planning
  • Provide required support and troubleshoot production. As needed, potentially subject to on call responsibilities
  • Follow the company’s development and operational standards and processes
  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification
  • 7+ years of relevant working experience
  • Proven experience with frontend development
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Experience with React and/or Angular its ecosystem (e.g., Redux, React Router)
  • Experience with Python and Django
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools (e.g., Webpack, Babel)
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Jest, Enzyme)
  • Understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms (e.g., SASS) and CSS-in-JS solutions (e.g., Styled-components)
  • Experience with: 
    • Continuous deployment, and test-driven development (TDD)
    • Relational database (RDBMS) schema design in one or more of MySQL, PostgreSQL
    • NoSQL database design in one or more of DynamoDB, Cassandra
    • CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins
    • AWS deployment descriptor: Cloudformation, Terraform
    • Version control: Git
  • Experience with HTTP REST and SQL
  • Comfortable to work with cloud services, specifically AWS
  • Knowledgeable of containerization technologies (specifically Docker)
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
