About the Role:

CMT seeks a highly talented Principal Web Developer who is a champion in all key technologies in the industry and has professional end-to-end web development experience.
We are looking for a highly qualified genius who drives our technology strategy and contributes to high-impact end-to-end solutions for safer roads. As a technical leader you'll shape the future of our web platform, will solve complex problems, and have a high impact on the success of CMT.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, support, and mentor junior developers on software development best practices. Lead code and design reviews, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
  • Architecture & Design: Design and develop end-to-end solutions with a focus on maintainability, usability, scalability, and performance. Contribute to the long-term architectural vision of the platform
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with product managers to understand future business direction and architect the platform accordingly. Collaborate with other technical leads and stakeholders to develop project plans and participate in resource planning
  • Development & Implementation: Solve complex technical problems and translate them into effective business solutions. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Operations & Support: Provide necessary support and troubleshoot production issues, including high severity incidents. Follow company development and operational standards and processes including managing incidents

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or certification
  • 7+ years of relevant working experience in frontend development
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Extensive experience with React or Angular and their ecosystem (e.g., Redux, React Router)
  • Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (Python, Java, C#, C++)
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and working with SQL databases, including schema design and performance optimization
  • Understanding of common web security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies
  • Comfortable working with cloud services, specifically AWS
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Experience working in an Agile environment

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python and Django
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools (e.g., Webpack, Babel)
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Jest, Enzyme)
  • Understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms (e.g., SASS) and CSS-in-JS solutions (e.g., Styled-components)
  • NoSQL database design in one or more of DynamoDB, Cassandra
  • AWS deployment descriptors: CloudFormation, Terraform
