ABOUT THE TEAM
The Platform Engineering team builds and maintains Lattice, the core operating system that powers all of Anduril's technology. Unlike traditional software teams, our engineers see their work deployed in real-world scenarios within months, not years. We operate across multiple technical domains—from infrastructure and distributed systems to web development and networking—creating the backbone that enables rapid innovation throughout the company. ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our rapidly growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for building infrastructure, platform services, and core systems that power Anduril's defense technology ecosystem. You will work on developing and integrating model/software/hardware-in-the-loop components by leveraging both proprietary and third-party technologies related to simulation, data management, compute infrastructure, and networking. This will require expertise in various programming languages, system design, and collaborative problem-solving. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design and implement core infrastructure and platform services that enable other engineers to scale their output
- Develop distributed systems that support Anduril's defense technology applications
- Build and maintain web development frameworks and networking solutions
- Work directly with customers to deliver novel software capabilities
- Integrate model/software/hardware-in-the-loop components using first and third-party technologies
- Collaborate with team members and partners in the autonomy domain
- Create technologies and processes that enable users to safely and rapidly develop and deploy autonomous systems at scale
- Participate in technical design reviews and system architecture discussions
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and data management solutions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years working in an engineering setting: a startup (or startup-like environment), engineering school, etc.
- At least 3+ years working with a variety of programming languages such as Rust, Go, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.
- Experience working with customers to deliver novel software capabilities
- Experience building and integrating model/software/hardware-in-the-loop components
- Demonstrated ability to build platform and infrastructure tooling
- Strong collaboration skills, particularly in the autonomy domain
- Bias toward rapid delivery and iteration
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience building or inventing something: an app, a website, game, or startup
- Professional software development lifecycle experience using tools such as version control, CI/CD systems, etc.
- Deep understanding of how computers and networks work, from a single desktop to a multi-cluster cloud node
- Experience building scalable backend software systems with various data storage and processing requirements
- Experience with industry standard cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and software infrastructure fundamentals
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases
- Experience implementing robot or autonomous vehicle testing frameworks
- Experience with modern build and deployment tooling (e.g., NixOS, Terraform)
- Experience designing complex software systems and iterating upon designs via technical design reviews
- Familiarity with industry standard monitoring, logging, and data management tools and best practices
US Salary Range
$168,000—$252,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
