TITLE: Senior Software Engineer, Internal Products
LOCATION: New York City (hybrid) or Fully Remote in the United States
SALARY: $130,000 - $160,000 (based on NYC, will be adjusted for geo)
The Role:
We are seeking a seasoned engineer eager to have a big impact by solving cumbersome internal processes rapidly using their software development skills and low-code solutions such as ReTool.
As a Senior Software Engineer at Canoe, you will own designing, developing, and maintaining internal tools that empower our team to work more efficiently. You must be able to assess an operational process quickly and identify ways to streamline it with little supervision or guidance. The pace will be extremely fast and you will have the freedom to select the right tool for the job. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders in our commercial and operations teams to understand their needs and translate them into effective proto-applications. What You'll Do:
- Specialize in rapid development of internal tools by integrating with many systems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions that enhance operational efficiency using low-code platforms, particularly ReTool
- Design, develop, and maintain intuitive internal tools by leveraging Typescript, Python, SQL, and Kafka, ensuring user friendliness, accuracy, and resiliency.
- Champion a data-driven approach, by analyzing performance metrics and driving continuous improvement.
- Mentor other engineers, fostering their growth and proficiency in tool development methodologies.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, actively contributing ideas for process improvement and tool enhancement.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in software development with a strong focus on Typescript, Python, and SQL. Ability to leverage Kafka.
- Strong experience with low-code development platforms, particularly ReTool, is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of data management, storage and optimization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A proactive, results-oriented mindset, with a passion for making a meaningful impact and driving organizational success.
Preferred
- Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration.
- Experience with AWS and DevOps practices is advantageous.
- Familiarity with UX concepts and techniques (e.g., usability testing).
