The SWAT team is a diverse and collaborative team dedicated to building best in-class automation tools that enhance operation efficiency of every software engineer in Grab. We value using our creativity and problem solving skills to build software that help engineers to refine daily operations.

Get to Know the Role

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you will report to our Engineering Manager, and you will play an important role in developing cutting-edge software applications. You will work across the stack on both the frontend and backend, ensuring seamless integration and user experience. You will collaborate with other engineers in cross-functional teams, and participate in the full software development lifecycle.

This is an onsite role and our office is based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will design, develop and maintain robust and scalable backend services using Golang within a microservices architecture.
• You will design, develop and maintain user-friendly front components using ReactJS within a micro-frontend architecture.
• You will collaborate with other engineers to establish and maintain best practices, take part in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions.
• You will troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance and reliability.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• At least 4 years of experience as a software engineer writing production code.
• Solid Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language, such as Go, Scala, Java, C++, or others.
• Proficiency in building frontend applications using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience with microservices architecture and an understanding of distributed systems, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL).
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (Git), unit testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
