The Role:
Cart.com’s Product Marketplaces team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize our marketplace technology solutions. You will play a key role in building and maintaining scalable software that powers the integration of third-party marketplaces, enabling seamless transactions for our customers. As a senior engineer, you will collaborate cross-functionally to drive technical initiatives, improve system performance, and mentor junior engineers.
What You’ll Do:

Develop, enhance, and maintain marketplace integration software, ensuring scalability and performance.

Design and implement APIs and backend services to support marketplace connectivity.
-
Optimize database queries and backend processes to improve application efficiency.
-
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and deliver solutions.

Drive best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, testing, and CI/CD deployment.

Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system reliability.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.

Stay up to date with emerging technologies and marketplace trends to drive innovation.

What You’ve Done:

5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend systems.
-
Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Core/.NET Framework.

Experience with SQL Server, PostgresSQL or other relational databases.

Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including managed services like RDS, EC2, and serverless computing.
-
Proficiency in designing and building RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Web API.
-
Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging queues.
-
Experience working with Angular for frontend development, including component-based architecture and state management.
-
Experience working in an Agile development environment (Scrum/Kanban).
-
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Nice to Haves:
-
Experience with third-party marketplace integrations (Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, etc.).
-
Knowledge of GraphQL and microservices architecture.

Exposure to big data processing and analytics tools.

Experience with Go for backend development.

Prior experience in a high-growth startup or e-commerce company.
