Senior Software Engineer – Backend
Duties: Involved in all facets of the software development process from inception to deployment. Add visibility to critical applications and processes. Evolve the Rocket toolkit by identifying and recommending the best tool for each task. Create A/B tests to bring our users a constantly improving experience. Improve existing code to make it more testable, tested, and resilient. Deploy daily to highly available applications. Maintain a sense of empathy for our customers and moving quickly where users are most acutely affected.
Requirements: Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field of study, and 5 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position working with JVM, Server-Side development, Infrastructure, Databases, and Frontend development. Experience specified must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: Java; and Infrastructure As Code Tooling. Experience specified must include 4 years of experience with each of the following: deploying applications to AWS or a similar cloud provider; Relational Database Management Systems; Non-relational Database Management Systems; Key-Value Stores; automated testing and tools; and a Frontend Framework like Angular or React. Experience specified must also include 2 years of experience with each of the following: Key Management Systems and using at least one of the following languages: Grails, Groovy, Kotlin or Clojure. Telecommuting permitted.
