The Senior Software Engineer role in Retail Technology is a hands-on development role that is responsible for setting, implementing and maintaining best practices across our Engineering Chapter to design secure, robust and highly scalable solutions spanning multiple Adobe products.
The role will be leading and driving key AEM and front-end development solutions and is critical to establishing high quality digital assets.

As a Software Engineer, you be joining the Customer Engagement Comms Software Engineering Chapter, a part of the Group’s wider Retail Banking practice. This team leads a variety of services which includes CBA’s Website and major platform to access product and key service.
We’re interested in hearing from people who:

Can lead and support key initiatives, automation, and transformation as part of the CommBank website driving AEM capabilities.

Provide experience in enhancing features on and running AEM platform and support other Adobe platforms like AEP, Target and Analytics.

Can design and develop maintainable, secure, scalable, and well-tested software.
-
Participate in activities include planning, application design, coding, testing, build and deployment scripting, and configuration in all relevant domains and related technologies and interacting with project stakeholders.

Translate product management expectations into fully functional products that meets customers’ requirements.
-
Support on-call services when required.

Take an active role in mentoring junior software engineers.
Tech skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to possess knowledge of all, but experience or exposure with some, or their equivalents, will set you up for success in this team;

Extensive experience on AEM, Content Management System and Apache OSGi frameworks is essential.

Adobe Experience Cloud (Experience Platform, Target, Analytics, Data Collection).

Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and pre-processors (LESS/SCSS).

Understanding of Typescript, JavaScript and modern JS frameworks (e.g.: React, Angular, Vue).

Experience with front-end tooling (NPM/Yarn, Webpack, Eslint).

Experience in Java and has previously used building tools such as Maven, Gradle.

Experience in writing automated tests (e.g.: Mockito, Junit, Jest, Playwright, Cypress.

Exposure to Cloud Services (e.g.: Amazon AWS, Azure,) is highly regarded.

GIT, Jira, Confluence, GitHub or equivalent.

Comfortable working in Linux environments (SSH, basic navigation etc).

CI/CD native.
