We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software DevOps Specialist to join our innovative Cloud Center of Excellence team. This role involves providing expert consultancy to various business units and developer departments and taking ownership and governance responsibility for specific selected platforms. We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in DevOps practices, cloud computing, and the creation of software, who will contribute significantly to elevating our operational productivity and advancing our innovative capabilities.Key Responsibilities:Consultancy and Collaboration:
- Provide expert consultancy to business units and developer departments on DevOps best practices and methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize DevOps processes, test automation and workflows.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in DevOps and cloud technologies, advising on strategic initiatives and projects.
Platform Ownership and Governance:
- Take ownership of specific selected platforms, ensuring their stability, scalability, and security.
- Develop and enforce governance policies and best practices for platform management.
- Monitor and maintain the health and performance of platforms, proactively addressing any issues or risks.
Continuous Improvement and Automation:
- Implement ongoing enhancement strategies to elevate the productivity and performance of DevOps processes.
- Deploy automation tools and frameworks that simplify development, testing, and deployment workflows.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, recommending and implementing new tools and practices as appropriate.
Mentorship and Leadership:
- Mentor and guide junior team members, developing a culture of learning and collaboration.
- Lead by example, promoting a proactive and problem-solving mindset within the team.
- Contribute to the development of technical standards, documentation, and training materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in DevOps, software development, or a related role.
- High expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, JFrog) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Expertise in diagnosing issues and taking immediate, effective action.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Experience with successfully managing and delivering complex projects.
Ideal Competencies:
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator).
- Experience in a consultancy role, providing strategic advice and solutions to business units.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards in DevOps.
