What you’ll do at Elekta
As a Senior Software Architect, you will drive the software architecture for the Real Time Control System and associated software systems of our Linear Accelerator products, collaborating closely with Systems Engineers and guiding development teams across various subsystems. This role involves actively participating in all stages of the software engineering lifecycle—requirements, design, implementation, and testing—while maintaining strict adherence to Elekta’s quality standards. By evaluating new technologies and methodologies, you will ensure our solutions remain innovative, effective, and aligned with clinical evolution in the field.
Some of your key responsibilities include:

Collaboration & Alignment
Work with Systems Engineers to establish an efficient software architecture that meets subsystem needs
Provide hands-on guidance and support to development teams, ensuring architectural integrity -
Engineering Activities
Participate in requirements specification, design, implementation, testing, and documentation
Evaluate technologies and methodologies to continuously improve our solutions -
Quality & Standards
Understand and adhere to Elekta’s quality system, suggesting improvements to enhance its effectiveness
Follow the latest technical and clinical trends to keep our products at the forefront of the industry

What you bring
You have a proven track record in architecting complex software systems and leading cross-functional teams to bring products to life. You understand the nuances of safety-critical industries—ideally medical—and excel in applying system engineering practices in agile environments.

A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a relevant field

Profound experience in Software Architecture and thorough Software Engineering expertise within product development

Familiarity with safety-critical industry standards, preferably medical

System engineering practices and agile methodologies experience

Proven ability to lead complex products or systems in a technical leadership position

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with willingness to travel internationally
