As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will help ensure the reliable, scalable, secure, performant, and cost-effective operation of Cytracom products and features. Site Reliability Engineers bridge the gap between development and operations, applying a software engineering mindset to systems administration tasks. You will build and monitor infrastructure, optimizing for scale and reliability while identifying opportunities for increasing maintainability. You will champion engineering best practices, helping create a culture of operational excellence throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
- System Administration: Install, configure, optimize, and maintain Linux and container orchestration platforms to ensure maximum uptime and performance. Tune kernels, manage user permissions, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Network Administration: Design, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network configuration (routers, switches) and protocols (DNS, DHCP, VPN). Ensure network security through segmentation and access controls.
- Monitoring & Observability: Implement robust observability solutions to monitor system performance (logs, metrics, traces) using tools like Prometheus and Grafana. Configure alerting for proactive issue resolution.
- Automation: Use IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate provisioning and configuration management for consistent environments.
- Security: Apply best practices for securing Linux systems and networks. Implement firewalling, intrusion detection systems (IDS), vulnerability management processes, and proper encryption.
- Incident Response: Participate in on-call rotations to triage and resolve customer-facing issues promptly.
- Documentation & Collaboration: Write clear documentation for processes and architectures. Foster collaborative relationships across teams.
