Alteryx is searching for a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer. This position is remote-friendly.

Position Overview:

You will be part of a the SRE team responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of Alteryx's Cloud SaaS Products. The team works closely with Product Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, and the Customer service teams to ensure SaaS services are available and performant. This team will originate customer software/service fixes, contributing to various code bases and ensuring product availability, scalability, and resiliency.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, Provision, and maintain Alteryx's Cloud SaaS products.

  • Build and maintain an observability platform to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of critical systems.

  • Drive the implementation of automation tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to streamline deployment processes, configuration management, and infrastructure provisioning.

  • Promotes our customer-centered approach to be a part of our customer's solutions.

  • Work with product teams on non-functional requirements for SaaS products, including resiliency, security, and availability.

  • Improve and configure product observability/alerts and automate remediation through programming.

  • Serve as an escalation point for customer SaaS instances for availability, performance and application behavior issues.

  • Demonstrate critical thinking and a growth mindset.

  • Be enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying the knowledge gained to address customer problems.

  • Author code fixes for software/service issues.

  • Work with Product Engineering teams to merge code.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation for off-hours support periodically.

  • Train and mentor team members.

Required Skills:

  • Distributed Systems: 5+ years of experience in programming and/or operating distributed systems software programming.

  • Languages: 5+ years of experience programming in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Go, JavaScript, Java, or .NET.

  • Debugging and RCAs: 3+ years of experience debugging complex software issues and performing root cause analyses (RCAs).

  • Technical Communication: Proven ability to discuss technical issues and solutions with non-technical team members.

  • Observability Tools: Extensive experience with modern observability stacks like Datadog, OneRelic, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Splunk, or SumoLogic.

  • Kubernetes: 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes for managing and deploying containerized applications, along with tools like Helm, ArgoCD, GitLab, kubectl.

  • Cloud Providers: Experience working with cloud providers like GCP, AWS or Azure.

  • Software Tooling: Demonstrated ability to write and maintain shared code for automation, infrastructure orchestration, and reliability tooling.

  • Ability to break down and discuss technical issues and solutions with non-technical team members.

Valued Skills:

  • Metrics and Tracing: 3+ years of expertise with metrics, time-series, logging, and/or distributed tracing.

  • IaC Tools: Advanced experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.

  • CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools.

Compensation:

Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location. 

The salary range for this role in the United States is $129,500 - $174,800.

Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, such as a bonus or commission, medical, retirement, financial, wellness, time off, employee discounts, and others.
