We are seeking an experienced Senior Simulation Software Integration Engineer to take a leadership role within our Autonomy Simulation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the integration of complex simulation models, developing advanced test frameworks, and building scalable infrastructure to support both Monte Carlo simulations and large-scale system testing. This senior position will provide technical direction in simulation performance optimization, post-processing automation, and cloud-based data analysis. You will be a key contributor in shaping the future of simulation capabilities, ensuring the environment delivers actionable insights for the autonomy product teams.
This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model Integration: Lead the integration of high-fidelity simulation models, ensuring seamless operation within the simulation environment and across multiple systems.
- Test Case Development: Design and implement comprehensive test frameworks and strategies to validate both individual modules and large-scale simulation scenarios.
- Metrics Collection and Analysis: Develop advanced tools and methodologies for collecting performance data, analyzing large datasets, and generating actionable metrics from simulation runs.
- Simulation Infrastructure: Architect, build, and maintain a robust simulation infrastructure capable of handling complex and distributed simulations, including large-scale Monte Carlo simulations.
- Data Post-Processing: Automate and optimize the post-processing of simulation data in cloud-based environments (e.g., GCP), ensuring efficient data accessibility and insight generation for the autonomy and systems teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a technical liaison between software engineering, systems engineering, and autonomy teams, ensuring that simulation integration, testing, and data analysis align with broader project objectives.
- Technical Leadership & Continuous Improvement: Provide mentorship to junior engineers and continuously identify, design, and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of the simulation environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (PhD is a plus).
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in software integration within large-scale simulation environments. Proven experience with high-fidelity simulation models, cloud platforms (preferably GCP), and distributed systems.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java. Strong experience with cloud computing technologies, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes), and data processing pipelines. Familiarity with large-scale data storage, querying systems (e.g., BigQuery), and performance optimization techniques.
- Analytical Skills: Expert in handling, processing, and analyzing large datasets, with a solid understanding of simulation performance and data visualization.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of influencing cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with Monte Carlo simulation techniques.
- Expertise in cloud-based infrastructure and data processing platforms (GCP preferred).
- Familiarity with simulation environments in autonomy, robotics, or aerospace systems.
