What if the work you did every day could impact the lives of people you know? Or all of humanity?
At Illumina, we are expanding access to genomic technology to realize health equity for billions of people around the world. Our efforts enable life-changing discoveries that are transforming human health through the early detection and diagnosis of diseases and new treatment options for patients.
Working at Illumina means being part of something bigger than yourself. Every person, in every role, has the opportunity to make a difference. Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.
Illumina is the global leader in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology. Through relentless innovation, Illumina has reduced the cost of sequencing a human genome from hundreds of thousands of dollars to below $200. The drastic cost reduction has moved NGS from the laboratory to the clinic, with wide-ranging impact from cancer diagnostics to genetic testing. We invite you to join us in our effort to improve human health by unlocking the power of the genome.
We are currently looking for a talented scientist to join our Molecular Sciences Group (MSG). Resourceful individuals with wide-ranging scientific interests, who enjoy a fast-paced, hard-charging, but fun and collaborative interdisciplinary research environment will be a good fit. As part of the MSG team, you will be developing future sequencing and library preparation biochemistries with a focus on enzymatic processes.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Design and execute new NGS assay, including the accompanying bioinformatics pipeline
- Design and execute biochemical assay for the purpose of isolating and evaluating protein variants properties
- Troubleshoot and identify causes of failures and propose solutions.
