Position Summary

We are looking for an innovative and experienced Senior Scientist in Protein Science to join our dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in leading and executing research projects focused on the study, characterization, and engineering of proteins. Your expertise will directly contribute to the development of proteins and enzymes for novel applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects from conceptualization through development and validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage protein engineering projects, including the design, expression, purification, and characterization of proteins and enzymes.
• Design, plan, and execute protein optimization, production, and characterization for FL110’s technology platform
• Employ rational design and other protein engineering techniques to optimize protein function and stability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the ML/AI protein design team, to advance research objectives.
• Analyze experimental data, troubleshoot technical issues, and refine experimental protocols as needed.
• Create, maintain, and update documents for all aspects of the development process as well as contributing to generating intellectual property

Basic Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Protein Engineering, or a related field with minimum of 5-7 years of post-graduate experience.
• Extensive experience with protein expression systems (bacterial, mammalian) and purification techniques (FPLC).
• Experience with purification of multi-subunit complex and membrane proteins
• Proficient in protein characterization methods such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, mass spectrometry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in scientific writing and presentations.
• Track record of publications in high-impact journals and/or patents.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in computational protein design and bioinformatics tools.
• Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable.
