Invoice Home, formerly known as Wikilane Inc. is looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer on-site in Austin, Texas. We are a SaaS company that provides web-based business and productivity tools designed for users who want a simple and straightforward approach to the applications they use. Since Invoice Home’s humble beginnings in 2011, the app has steadily amassed over 7 million customers and consistently ranks as one of the top 5 invoicing apps in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store making it one of the lead invoicing apps on the market.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, results-driven individual who is easily adaptable and ready to join our team as a Software Developer. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who enjoys learning new things and likes to keep up with new technologies/developments not only for product enhancement but also for personal and professional development. As a software developer, you will work closely with the company’s CTO, Development, and Marketing teams, to design, develop and implement software solutions that align with the company’s goals including functional and non-functional requirements for new or existing applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand and perform basic analysis of previously written software,
• and be able to modify, develop, and maintain the code.
• Carry out security, bug-fixing, and app improvement (i.e. detect, investigate, and fix defects).
• Participate in design discussions, code walkthroughs, review sessions, and accept constructive feedback; also be happy to review the work of colleagues.
• Provide a “can-do” attitude, prepared to learn whatever tools, technologies, or methodologies are best suited for a task and continual improvement.
• Perform complex development tasks with a high level of quality, and within scheduled time frames.
• Participate in daily Scrum meetings.
• Communicates effectively with peers to relay the status of work and raise challenges, concerns, questions, and issues when necessary.
• Collaborate with the Customer Support and Marketing teams to understand, investigate, and resolve any reported issues and/or implement new ideas.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Advanced and in-depth knowledge of Ruby on Rails, SQL, CSS, & HTML.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of development experience on a team (in a professional environment).
• Someone who is willing to learn a new framework and put in the work to help the team at large.
• TDD knowledge and familiarity at an advanced level.
• B.S. degree in Computer Science (or a related field) is required.
• Master’s Degree (preferred)
• Pass a “take-home” technical assessment (5 days will be given to complete this. More information will be provided if you are selected to move forward after initial call).
