Senior Ruby Engineer

Digital Turbine is seeking a senior Ruby engineer to join the Engineering department and be an important part in building its next-generation of products. Digital Turbine’s technology monetizes tens of thousands of the most popular mobile applications, handling trillions of daily transactions and close to a billion daily users. Please note this role will be based in Berlin, Germany. Eligible candidates must reside within a commutable distance as we are a hybrid office environment requiring an in-office presence of 3 days per week.

Job Responsibilities of the Senior Ruby Engineer:

• Design and implement highly scalable, fault-tolerant backend solutions in collaboration with team members
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, ensuring adherence to best engineering practices
• Conduct and actively participate in code reviews to uphold high-quality standards
• Develop and enhance backend applications that power our cutting-edge AdTech platform
• Research new technologies and architectural improvements to optimize performance and reliability
• Quickly gain deep product knowledge and contribute to system architecture while delivering production-ready code
• Write robust, well-tested code that scales efficiently under high traffic
• Foster and contribute to a collaborative, growth-driven work culture

About you as the Senior Ruby Engineer:

• 4+ years of experience in Ruby on Rails development
• Experience working with legacy code
• Strong expertise in writing unit tests and automated tests to ensure code quality
• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP, including cloud infrastructure best practices
• In-depth knowledge of MySQL, with practical experience in query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with key-value stores like Redis or Memcached for caching and performance optimization
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for writing efficient, scalable, and maintainable backend systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
