Overall Purpose
Develops, manages, and supports the execution of risk strategy and our 1–3 year transformation plans to drive best-in-class risk management culture and practices for our network and solutions. Focuses on a broad range of topics including influencing transformation roadmaps, maturing our risk management operating model and culture, refining, and creating enterprise, board, and executive committee level materials and reporting, and partnering with risk leadership to drive implementation of our strategic priorities. This role will report directly to the VP, Risk Strategy, Transformation, and Operations and have high visibility in the organization with frequent interaction with the C-suite, senior executive team, as well as our 1st line of defense risk teams and leaders.
Essential Functions

Develops compelling recommendations for risk strategy and transformation initiatives that enhance our risk maturity, enabling enterprise and business prioritization, budgeting, and monetization of new programs and initiatives.

Works across the organization to identify risk opportunities and creates action plans with business teams to mitigate risks. When needed, drives end-to-end execution.

Leads all aspects of our risk strategy initiatives including strategy formation, final recommendation, developing business cases, and integration.

Structures complex problems, develops hypotheses, conducts analyses, and drives actionable recommendations through a documented data driven process.

Designs and delivers relevant materials to be presented at board and executive level risk governance meetings, risk committees and other business risk routines. Develops communication materials and presentations that support risk strategy.

Supports the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
Minimum Qualifications
-
8+ years of experience in risk management.

Minimum of 5 or more years of relevant work experience in management consulting, leading strategy and/or large-scale transformation.

Education and/or experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s degree.

Strong analytical skills, PowerPoint and Excel fluency.

Effective communicator, able to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing, comfortable in business and technical discussions.

Strong understanding of risk management programs and industry best practices for regulated entities in the financial services industry.

Demonstrated aptitude to think strategically, provide thought leadership to the organization and execute program initiatives.

Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to lead forums with multiple stakeholders.

Strong relationship-building skills and experience interacting with executives and functional business leaders through all levels of the organization.

Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to identify practical recommendations in an evolving and increasingly complex business and regulatory environment.

Preferred Qualifications

2 or more years prior work experience at a strategy consulting firm.

Experience working on complex strategic projects with financial services companies, inclusive of corporate and business unit strategy, driving business and technical alignment, and communicating with executives.

Fluency in performing financial and broad quantitative analyses in Excel and familiarity with accounting and key operational metrics.

Experience in payments, risk insights, digital identity, banking, or fintech space.
Physical Requirements
Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers. Employee must be able to perform essential functions and physical requirements of position with or without reasonable accommodation.

The base pay scale for this position in:
Phoenix, AZ/ Chicago, IL in USD per year is: $120,000 - $150,000.
New York, NY/ San Francisco, CA in USD per year is: $140,000 - $170,000.
Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
