Job Description

Duties:

  • Implement risk limit frameworks for covered investment centers
  • Partner with investment teams to enhance their understanding of risk exposures and deliver superior insight into portfolio construction process
  • Partner with other business units and actively participate in portfolio review process with CIO and PMs
  • Undertake quant projects regarding portfolio construction, portfolio style or other relevant topics and generate clear, articulate and actionable analysis for relevant stakeholders
  • Present on risk matters internally and externally
  • Engage the technology group in support of furthering the quality, structure and use of risk data throughout the organization and to facilitate the delivery of state-of-the-art risk analytics and risk models
  • Develop first-class tools and analytics that highlight drivers of portfolio risk, factor exposures, areas of portfolio concentration etc.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of financial markets, securities, general investment themes and regulatory issues in order to bring an informed perspective to the risk management processes.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Master’s degree in Statistics, Financial Engineering, Math or related quant degree
  • Must have 3 years of experience in risk analysis positions within the financial or investments industries performing/utilizing the following:
    • Working for a global organization
    • Serving as a quantitative risk analyst at an asset management firm/company
    • Risk management, including portfolio construction methodologies, stress testing and risk assessment techniques across various asset classes.
    • Demonstrating proficiency in utilizing commercial data and analytics vendors such as Bloomberg or similar platforms to extract insights and support decision-making processes.
    • Applying strong analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze complex data sets, identify key risk factors, and provide actionable recommendations.
    • Programming with Python, C#, VBA, etc. to develop, validate and maintain quantitative models and analytics, including but not limited to strategic asset allocation, economic scenario generator, and Monte Carlo simulation.
    • Model development, scenario analysis, stress-testing, and other risk-related metrics and tools.
    • Developing and managing Value at Risk (VaR) analysis, simulations, and back testing
  • Position may be eligible to work hybrid/remotely but is based out of and reports to Invesco offices in New York, NY.  Must be available to travel to New York, NY regularly for meetings and reviews with manager and project teams within 24-hours’ notice.   
  • Salary Range: $147,000 to $160,000
