Job Duties and Responsibilities
Senior RF Engineer sought by DISH Wireless LLC in Bingham Farms, MI.
Perform RF design activities to build the first standalone 5G broadband network in the U.S. Optimize end-to-end RF design. Propagate modeling and prediction for deployment of Macro Cell deployment. Determine equipment and power configurations. Work with eNB/RAN and UE teams on RF solutions including modifications to RF link budgets on a per site level basis to meet operations requirements. Perform site candidate evaluation, selection, and site walks. Work with RF Management to establish design criteria, link budget, and traffic analysis for network design. Update existing performance parameters for ongoing improvements. Work with propagation/planning tools (Planet or Atoll) and model calibrations utilizing data processing of various LTE design, optimization equipment, and software. Perform final RF designs, development, operations, RF KPIs, and maintenance of RF link budgets for 3GPP technologies. Work with Cellular/Mobile Technology in 4G/5G and NR. Perform equipment co-location requirements for multiple operators, perform inter-modulation, and other external interference analysis. Perform drive test data post-processing, map generation, frequency planning and interference matrix analysis and site database maintenance using Windcatcher/Actix/Accuver.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Requires Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a closely related field plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as an RF Engineer. Also requires 3 years of experience with/using the following (which may have been gained concurrently):
- External interference Hunting, KPI Reviews and Performance monitoring, Customer Support and Call Troubleshooting;
- 3G/4G/5G and NR theory;
- Macro and small cell, RF designs including development and operations, RF KPIs, and maintenance of RF link budgets for 3GPP technologies.
- RF Planning and Design tools (Tools Planet, Atoll, Google Earth, MapInfo, QGIS, or similar); and
- RF optimization tools (Tableau, Xcal, Xcap, Spectrum Analyzer, Windcatcher, OSS, Nemu, or any Post Processing Tools or similar Post Processing tools).
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $122,117.00/Year
