The opportunity

We are building a dynamic team at the intersection of health services research and economics, advanced analytics, and strategic growth. The Senior Research Scientist will be a thought leader and hands-on innovator who guides our growth strategy, crafts new methodologies, and drives actionable insights from complex datasets and analyses. You will play a key role in answering challenging business questions related to: identifying high value opportunities to grow and develop our network, navigating the unique nuances of practice-level versus system-level performance, providing strategic market insights to enhance the impact of outreach and marketing initiatives, and evaluating the effectiveness of tactics to affect company growth levers.


What you’ll do

Lead cross-functional projects to design, execute, and disseminate rigorous quantitative analyses that inform strategic decisions and operational improvements.

Serve as a subject matter expert on study design, causal inference, predictive modeling, simulation, and optimization methodologies.

Mentor and guide junior analysts, fostering an environment of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in data-driven research.

Develop and implement repeatable processes with strong version control (e.g., Git), ensuring high-quality, scalable analyses and transparent documentation.

We are flexible with respect to geographic location, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely/work from home within the US.


Primary Duties:

  • Identify analysis priorities:
  • Lead efforts with teams across Aledade and external partners to proactively identify and clarify important strategic and tactical questions for data analysis and experiments.

  • Design and execute analysis projects:
  • Design and lead descriptive, predictive, and/or causal inference statistical analyses for large scale projects and complex program areas.
  • Design and program code to integrate, evaluate, and analyze diverse data sources.
  • Perform data analysis and statistical modeling to generate actionable insights and solutions. 
  • Supervise junior colleagues in programming and model implementation for large scale projects.

  • Translate and communicate analysis results:
  • Form strategic and tactical recommendations for leaders across Aledade teams based on evidence. 
  • Lead efforts across teams to synthesize results from complex analyses, identify implications of analysis results and translate findings into action.
  • Lead and supervise development and presentation of analytic products that accurately communicate insights from the data and inspire action.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience (advanced degree may substitute for some experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or PhD in economics, health services research, statistics, or similar
  • Proven expertise in advanced quantitative analysis, grounded in econometrics, statistics, or related disciplines
  • Advanced data manipulation skills, including proficiency in SQL and statistical programming in R, Python, or Stata
  • Demonstrated mastery of causal inference techniques (e.g., randomized trials, regression discontinuity, difference-in-differences, instrumental variables, matched designs)
  • Deep understanding of healthcare delivery organizations, including experience with organizational data, and insights into market structures such as horizontal and vertical integration
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex findings to leaders and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Strong project management skills and a commitment to process excellence, quality assurance, and meticulous documentation
