Job Description
ROLE PURPOSE:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Renewable Energy Specialist with a strong background in solar and wind energy to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of proven expertise in the renewable energy sector and a track record of success in preparing, reviewing, and optimizing energy systems for large-scale renewable energy projects. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage relationships with clients and stakeholders effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Renewable Energy System Assessment:
- Conduct detailed desktop constraints mapping and solar & wind resource assessments to determine the feasibility of renewable energy projects.
- Perform technology reviews to evaluate and identify suitable generation equipment (e.g., wind turbines, solar panels) and power system parameters.
- Assess and propose interconnection options to inform the siting of park substations, considering grid connection requirements and other technical constraints.
2.Cost Estimation & Financial Analysis:
- Prepare preliminary CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) and OPEX (Operational Expenditure) cost estimates with a ±10% margin, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
- Provide financial analysis and insights into the optimization of electrical power systems based on CAPEX and OPEX considerations to enhance project feasibility and long-term sustainability.
3. Energy Yield Assessment:
- Conduct Energy Yield Assessments (P50, P75, P90) to determine the expected energy output from solar and wind projects, using industry-standard methodologies and tools.
4. Site Planning and Design:
- Develop site plans and drawings related to electrical equipment, including any required AutoCAD plans.
- Prepare Basis Summary Reports that include essential details such as climatic and environmental conditions, infrastructure, technology selection, and electrical design.
- Provide a summary of the range of likely wind turbine dimensions and other relevant parameters to support the design and planning stages.
5. Client Communication & Reporting:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and presenting technical findings in a clear and professional manner.
- Lead discussions with clients on project progress, technical issues, and optimization strategies.
- Ensure all deliverables meet client expectations and are aligned with project timelines.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
Years of Experience/ Sector.
- At least 10+ years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a strong focus on solar and wind energy projects.
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports, energy assessments, and cost estimations.
Job-Specific Skills: (Example- Analytical skills, Auto CAD, STAAD.Pro software skills etc.)
- Deep knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including solar and wind generation systems.
- Proficiency in Energy Yield Assessment (P50, P75, P90) and other industry-standard methodologies.
- Strong experience with CAPEX / OPEX analysis and optimization of electrical power systems.
- Expertise in site planning and the ability to develop AutoCAD drawings related to electrical equipment and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with climax

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage client relationships and collaborate effectively with team members and external partners.
Work Environment & Location:
- This position is based in Saudi Arabia, with work locations available in Tabuk or Riyadh.
- The role may require occasional travel to project sites and client meetings across the region.
Additional Information
**Security clearance**
This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
