Senior Relationship Manager (Luxembourg)

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Senior Relationship manager to join our Relationship Excellence team. The Sr. Relationship Manager  (Sr. RM) plays a lead role in ensuring BBH relationship excellence and new business development. The Sr. RM is responsible for increasing relationship penetration with existing clients and selling existing as well as new products to prospective clients within territory. Additionally, the Sr. RM works at the most senior levels of client prospects and existing client organizations to ensure satisfaction with current BBH products and services while maximizing profitability and increasing product breadth with clients.

                                                                                                                                                                              

Some of your key responsibilities include:

Relationship Excellence (RE)

  • Ensure the delivery of relationship excellence to a designated client base.

  • Develop effective and strategic relationships with the most senior levels of client organizations to ensure satisfaction with current BBH products and services while maximizing profitability and increasing product breadth.

  • Monitor operational issues and follow through on effective problem resolution through deep collaboration with across the BBH organization.

Business Development

  • Responsible for long-term profitability of current client relationships.    

  • Achieve annual revenue targets within stated profit margin goals. Delivers new revenue objectives from existing clients based on strong commercial insights on trends in the industry, regulatory changes and client investment strategy.

  • Grow revenue with assigned prospects/clients and future key accounts. 

  • Coordinate cross-selling activity with Client Service Manager (CM), product specialists, Ops and Systems. Oversee deals.

  • Identify and coordinate innovative and integrated solutions to address clients’ strategic challenges using multiple BBH products and services.

  • Evaluate existing client relationships and identify new revenue streams through active communication and collaboration with CM, Ops, and Systems.

  • Promote BBH products and services throughout the industry and positions BBH for long-term opportunities.

Planning and Strategy

  • Develop and maintain detailed sales account plans and RE analysis for individual clients and prospects.

  • Monitor development and progress against sales plans for clients/prospects and RE action steps.

  • Develop strategic business relationships with top level executives of client/prospect organizations.

  • Monitor and track clients and potential clients by developing an in-depth knowledge of their 1, 3, and 5-year business strategy, key imperatives, organizational changes and related activities.

  • Actively track and communicate client and market intelligence back to appropriate BBH resources and colleagues.

Risk Management

  • Ensures the achievement of bi-directional trust with our clients.

  • Collaborates with our risk & compliance functions to ensure regulatory and Firm requirements are fulfilled.

Experience required

  • Understands and can describe the full spectrum of major products including custody / fund accounting / transfer agency / securities lending / foreign exchange & technology offerings

  • Excellent client-facing skills and presentation skills

  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment and other external market forces impacting the asset management and financial institution industries

  • Consultative, strategic relationship management & sales experience, approach and methodology

  • A credible executive able to gain the confidence and trust at the highest levels within our industry

  • Promotes desired culture and associated best practices

  • Ability to successfully operate within a team

  • Experience and evidence of executing an Insight-Led Sales Strategy

  • Experience of deploying technology to support sales activity (including CRM and knowledge management tools)

Knowledge and skills:

  • Global asset servicing product knowledge; Cross product knowledge a plus

  • Communication skills with demonstrated presentation skills and excellent writing ability

  • Proven negotiation skills

  • Professional business acumen; Ability to interact in a professional manner at all levels, both internally and externally to BBH

  • Detail oriented with proven ability to see open issues to resolution

Other requirements:     

  • Foreign language abilities and knowledge of foreign markets are desirable

  • Travel is required.
