Senior Regional PSRC Manager EAME

Huntsman has a rare opportunity for an experienced Senior Regional PSRC Manager to join our EAME regional team.

This role is a pivotal leadership role at the helm of ensuring excellence in product safety and regulatory affairs across EAME and with responsibilities for Global Programs such as Substance of Concern tool, extra care applications, regulatory impact analyses, and sustainability information. This role will spearhead the Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance (PSRC) team in the region, setting the bar for industry compliance, integrating safety into the DNA of product lifecycles, and guiding the company through complex international regulations and market compliance.

The role within the Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of safety and stewardship, ensuring our chemical products not only meet but exceed regulatory expectations globally. This role is essential to our commitment to safeguarding our customers, communities, and the environment.

Role Responsibilities: 

As a Senior Regional PSRC Manager EAME, you will:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and invigorate the regional PSRC team, fostering an environment of mentorship, skill development, and professional advancement, and build a team culture of customer mindset.
  • Strategic Development: Formulate and implement strategic business plans for the PSRC team, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and responsive adaptability to regulatory changes and maintaining compliance.
  • Inter-Divisional Collaboration: Build strong ties with business divisions to ensure Product Safety initiatives support specific divisional goals, integrating safety into their product strategies from conception to market.
  • Innovation & Engagement: Champion the introduction of innovative practices and technologies, encouraging active participation in key industry groups to advance the company’s Product Safety capabilities.
  • Regional Compliance Strategy: Develop compliance strategies that accommodate the new and varying regulatory requirements across the EAME.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with various teams to incorporate Product Safety and compliance into the development and lifecycle management of a diverse chemical product portfolio.
  • Education & Skill Enhancement: Oversee the development and delivery of training programs designed to enhance the Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance team’s capabilities and ensure adherence to industry best practices.
  • Operational Improvement: Seek and implement new methods to augment efficiency and precision in Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance procedures, leveraging automation to streamline compliance activities.

Experience and Competencies:  

We are looking for experienced candidates with excellent communication skills and a solution focused approach.  

What we are looking for:

  • Education: Advanced degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, toxicology, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 10 years in product safety and compliance within the chemical industry, including substantial leadership experience managing diverse teams.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration abilities; adept at navigating international regulations; committed to innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications related to chemical safety and hazardous materials management, chemical substance and product registration, and sensitive application regulatory requirement are a plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with SAP-EHS, GHS, and an understanding of toxicological impacts of chemical products.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders. Fluency in English required, additional languages are preferred.
  • Other Requirements: Willingness to travel internationally and the flexibility to adapt to different cultural and regulatory landscapes.
