The Sr. Quality Manager is responsible for tactical and strategic planning of the site quality plan, active participation in the development of processes, and evolution of the quality management system to ensure, provide, and maintain a sustainable quality system in alignment with the requirements of the industry norms and standards applicable to the products manufactured by Spellman in its current version, to satisfy the requirements of internal and external clients and applicable laws.
Leader of all the activities related to quality assurance and control, which includes handling, storage, inspection, and testing of parts and products to ensure adherence to established standards within the Spellman Quality Organization.
Accountable for managing and driving the team to deliver the right and fast quality control solutions for Spellman Mexico, maintaining product, legal integrity, and compliance.
Grow and develop team knowledge and skills through coaching and guidance. Drive continuous improvement and lead change within the Quality organization and the Spellman Operating System.
Develop and execute strategic plans to support all functional departments and continuously improve knowledge, skills, and learning.
Review, establish, and assess department key process indicators and provide actions when these are not achieved or any need of continuous improvement.
Submission and execution of site-level continuous improvement projects (e.g., product, process, controls, procedures, software, systems, tools, training, environmental, etc.)
Principal Responsibilities:

Lead the compliance of the Quality Management System (QMS).

Develop global processes, standards, metrics, operational excellence, and analytics.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate the voice of quality early in the process, transitioning from reactive to proactive quality management.

Share internal and external best practices to develop quality roadmaps and drive the quality transformation strategy for our company.

Coach and develop teams as needed.
-
Lead proactive improvements, procedures, and policies.
-
Act as a continuous improvement manager and implement lessons learned across the organization.
-
Develop strategies to streamline headcount and processes while maintaining or increasing defined quality levels.

Ensure data integrity at the site.

Update the quality system by aligning local procedures with corporate standards.

Monitor and communicate the results of the goals and objectives established by the organization.
-
Direct and maintain the entity's audit program.
-
Establish action and reaction plans based on statistical analysis of results.
-
Support the analysis and implementation of systematic corrective actions in production and support areas.

Establish and develop strategic quality plans, policies, and procedures.

Participate in the new product development team.

Act as the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) manager, working with the multidisciplinary departments to add more process controls to reduce the COPQ.

Be accountable for the problem-solving processes.

Monitor and measure processes, reporting results to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

Ensure and coordinate activities to provide support to customers in challenging situations.

Promote the development of employees under the organizational culture.

Participate in the creation of quality team training plans.
-
Comply with all regulatory requirements, ISO, and industry standards applicable to the company, as well as any other systems considered for certification.

Adhere to the code of conduct (ethics) of Spellman de México, S.A. de C.V.
Competences / abilities:
-
Industrial, Electronic engineering or similar, 10 years of experience in Quality related position.
-
8 years of experience in leadership roles.
-
Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
-
Skills to effectively manage and resolve conflicts that may arise in the quality management process.
-
Knowledge of PDCA methodology: plan, do, check, act.
-
Knowledge and Interpretation of the IPC 600, 610 & 620 standards preferred.

Certification on ISO 9001 as lead auditor.
-
Certification as lead auditor on ISO13485 is desired.
-
Working experience on Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing or equivalent.

Working experience on problem solving process.

Experience of leading teams in a multicultural environment.

Knowledge of functions in electronic systems (MRP).
-
Metrology knowledge.
-
Knowledge of ESD guidelines.
-
Knowledge of the assembly process of electronic products using mixed technologies, box build, SMT and T-Hole, manual soldering, mechanical assemblies, etc.

Good knowledge of handling computer packages.

Knowledge of the metal mechanic’s process.

Knowledge of the power supply assembly process preferably.

Interpretation of engineering drawings.

Quality Core tools.

Ability to teach others.

Project management, PMP preferably.

Resource management.

English proficiency technical and business.

Knowledge and understanding in Environmental & Quality Management Systems in their current versions.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to create presentations and interact with cross functional leaders.
