We’re seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer with a strong background in mobile testing and automation. The ideal candidate is passionate about quality assurance, is hands-on with the latest automation tools, and has a proven ability to deliver high-quality products within an Agile environment. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing and implementing mobile automation frameworks, executing end-to-end tests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain top-tier standards in our product delivery.
Required skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance with a focus on mobile test automation for iOS and Android platforms.
- Proficiency with mobile automation tools such as Appium, Espresso (Android), and XCTest (iOS).
- Strong scripting skills with experience in automation languages like Java, Kotlin, Swift, or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD integration, including tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, and familiarity with source control systems like Git.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Proven ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with BDD testing (Gherkin/Cucumber) is preferred.
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms using tools such as Appium, Espresso, and XCTest.
- Collaborate with the QA and development teams to design and implement automation frameworks and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Design and execute mobile-specific test strategies, ensuring comprehensive test coverage, including functional, performance, and security tests.
- Conduct BDD-based testing using Gherkin and Cucumber, creating readable and efficient test scenarios aligned with business requirements.
- Generate and analyse test reports to identify, track, and report defects, supporting continuous improvement in product quality.
- Stay current with mobile technology and testing trends, bringing new insights and innovations to improve automation coverage and testing efficiency.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth handoffs and clear communication throughout the delivery process.
Desirable skills:
- Exposure to performance and security testing for mobile applications.
- Familiarity with data-driven testing and test report analysis.
- Strong understanding of test strategies for large-scale, distributed systems.
