Senior Python Engineer - FinOps

ABOUT THE JOB 

We are looking for an experienced hands-on Python specialist to join our team. You'll be applying your engineering skills to analyse and build out uplift and new features to the Compliance Gate system that ensure applications across the Enterprise are fully compliant and vulnerability free. The ideal candidate will be both a consultant and a hands-on Analyst Engineer. 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Define/implement tools and processes to standardize and automate the way project software is developed, built, tested, and deployed; 

• Ensure a homogeneous way of implementing continuous integration and/or continuous delivery across projects; 

• Assist with the design and development of resilient, secure, supportable, and scalable systems; 

• Automate infrastructure deployments and rollbacks for all developed work assuming responsibility for process support; 

• Lead investigations into production incidents with assistance from the development team; 

• Proactively manage any risks to the production environment; 

• Continually improve the supportability of our systems by feeding improvements back into the design and development cycles. 

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

• At least 5 years of experience in with Python. 

• Experience in cloud (AWS or Azure) 

• Experience in Python and its frameworks 

• Experience in supporting a production service in a DevOps friendly and continuous improvement environment 

• A love of automation in large application delivery environments - infrastructure build, testing, development processes 

• Familiar working in an agile environment and using Scrum methodologies. 

• Strong English communication skills in both written and verbal form 

• Comfortable working with teams across different time zones 

• Strong critical and analytical thinking skills to be applied in daily activities
