Starr is building out a new Enterprise PMO within our CEO's Chief of Staff organization. This new group will manage Starr's most strategic projects / programs going forward. Successful candidates will be expected to bring their experience to bear as we establish this new organization and establish a dynamic project management culture.
Job Summary: The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise critical projects and programs within the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a proven track record of managing projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in program and project management, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of managing complex enterprise level projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and implementation of enterprise-wide programs and projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, business units, and key stakeholders to define program objectives, scope, and success criteria.
- Develop and maintain program roadmaps, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Facilitate regular program status meetings and provide transparent communication on program/project progress, risks, and issues.
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders and senior management regularly.
- Drive feedback loop between business customer and development / project team.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment, promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage program and project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-project evaluations.
- Prepare and present program status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Embed appropriate success metrics throughout project cycle and into hand over to post-project support team.
- Provide guidance and support to project managers, ensuring adherence to PMO standards and best practices.
- Drive the adoption of PMO methodologies, tools, and templates to enhance program management capabilities.
- Mentor and develop junior project managers, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and career growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or PMP certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on large-scale projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex programs with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $150,000-$180,000.
