Ziegler Energy Solutions has an opening for a Renewable Energy Senior Project Manager that provides leadership for new electrification projects from project budgeting through customer acceptance. Projects can vary from solar PV, battery energy storage to electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The Renewable Energy Senior Project Manager will organize, schedule, coordinate, obtain pricing, purchase, communicate, and lead the efforts of others. They also provide timely, cost effective management of multiple projects to meet customer expectations. Projects assigned to the Project Manager are the most complex projects, the unique and highly engineered projects and the largest revenue projects. This position will require some night and weekend and holiday work as many highly technical projects only allow off hour start-ups. Some jobs will require overnight stays; must have the ability to travel.
*This is not a remote position. Must be able to work out of our Dayton, MN location as well as travel 25% of time.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor project costs and coordinates billing to initiate the invoicing process
  • Meet with customers, contractors, engineers, owners, and Ziegler Sales staff to discuss project requirements and logistics
  • Assume responsibility of job execution beginning from the point the customer PO is received until the project is accepted by the owner
  • Order and obtain pricing for all necessary equipment and/or materials from suppliers, coordinating their timely release and delivery
  • Work closely with senior level technical staff of Ziegler customers and contractors
  • Coordinate delivery of equipment to job site
  • Lead Ziegler Renewable Energy projects through development and communication of schedules
  • Coordinate start-up procedures and documentation with contractors, engineers, customers, owners, utility company, sales staff and service technicians
  • Assemble Technical Submittal information
  • Assemble Operation and Maintenance documentation and other submittals as required
  • Assist the sales department in bid preparation and pre-submittals and initial project budgeting
  • Coordinate Ziegler shop-buildup
  • Coordinate with lead sales engineer to facilitate the design of specific design / build projects, requiring the management of outside resources to bring projects in on time and within the budget constraints on the project
  • Summarize project status through department meetings and reports
  • Document key strategies to reduce cost and increase gross profit on projects
  • Mentor and support the development of other project managers and new sales engineers
  • Work in a cooperative manner with team and superiors

Qualifications:

  • 4 year Bachelor’s degree or 2-yr. College degree with related experience
  • Combinations of 5+ years project management and 5+ years construction or electrical field experience required
  • PMP certification required or ability to obtain within one year
  • Electrical Power, Electrician, Solar, Generator or Reciprocating Engine experience required
  • Proficient using project management software, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand plans, blueprint specifications, electrical and construction contracts

The pay range for this position is

$93,200.00 to $116,450.00

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:
