About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing Corrosion Control team in San Diego, CA and Peachtree Corners, GA. The ideal candidate possesses 10+ years of project management experience and wants to grow, collaborate, and innovate. In this position, the successful candidate will help lead project management activities like project scoping/budgeting for proposals, building schedules, tracking hours/budget/schedule adherence, communication with clients, issues resolution, deliverable submittals and project closeout, while establishing strong relationships with clients, internal teams and management/stakeholders. The successful candidate will also help mentor and train junior-mid level project managers in developing project management skills. Design projects will span across multiple markets and geographies affording opportunities for broadening knowledge and deepening skill sets related to project management. We are seeking someone who can be an independent self-starter and can move quickly and efficiently through the stages of a project.
Specific duties will be to lead and manage cathodic protection (CP) contracts for key Department of Defense (DoD) clients, including AFCEC, NAVFAC EXWC, and USACE. This is a pivotal role within our organization, requiring technical expertise, strategic oversight, and hands-on project execution in corrosion control and cathodic protection systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership: Oversee multiple CP projects, ensuring compliance with DoD standards, regulations, and best practices, including NACE standards (e.g., SP0169, SP0285, SP0286).

Client Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison with DoD clients, maintaining relationships with AFCEC, NAVFAC, and USACE representatives.

Technical Oversight: Guide the design, implementation, and maintenance of CP systems for pipelines, storage tanks, and other infrastructure.

Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (e.g., UFC 3-570-06, UFC 3-570-01), NACE, and AMPP guidelines.

Team Leadership: Manage cross-functional teams, providing mentorship, direction, and oversight to ensure project goals are met.

Budget and Schedule Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to meet contractual requirements and deliverables.

Risk Mitigation: Identify and address potential project risks to maintain progress and ensure successful outcomes.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably with DoD contracts (preferably in A/E/C consulting environment).

Certifications:

NACE Certification required (e.g., CP3 Technologist or CP4 Specialist preferred).

PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.

Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of cathodic protection, corrosion control, and related technologies.

Knowledge Base: Familiarity with DoD standards and practices, including UFC guidance, NAVFAC, USACE protocols, and AFCEC operational requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working on AFCEC, NAVFAC EXWC, or USACE contracts.

Military or government contracting experience in corrosion control.

Hands-on knowledge of NACE standards such as SP0169 and SP0285.

Experience with relevant software such as Microsoft Office, MS Project, etc.

Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work.

Experience mentoring and training employees.

Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally.

Additional Information
Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Senior Project Manager with a salary range of $123,700.00 - $199,700.00 .
