Project Manager - Retail

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager – Retail to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of project management experience within an advertising agency or a related field, ideally with specific expertise in managing retail-driven paid media campaigns for high-volume industries like automotive. This role requires a proven track record of successfully delivering complex, integrated campaigns in fast-moving, high-stakes environments. You will be accountable for ensuring timely delivery of creative projects while adapting to rapid changes in retail promotions, maintaining the highest standards of quality, and driving client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of retail-driven advertising projects, managing frequent updates to creative assets prompted by changing incentive offers, dealer promotions, and sales events.
    Oversee high-volume, multi-channel asset production, ensuring accuracy and consistency across digital, social, print, and video deliverables at scale.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies for a fully integrated scope of deliverables (TVC, OLA, social, site, etc.). Ensure these plans account for the quick turnarounds required for retail campaigns.
  • Partner with creative, strategy, account, and media teams to ensure seamless execution of campaigns while managing priorities and deadlines tied to rapidly shifting retail objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, particularly on projects involving frequent retail updates and dealer-specific needs. Provide regular updates, manage expectations, and maintain alignment across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks associated with high-velocity retail marketing, such as missed deadlines or inconsistencies in messaging. Proactively address issues to ensure quality and accuracy in deliverables.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenses, ensuring financial objectives are met while adapting resource allocations for retail campaign shifts.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior project managers, fostering their development and equipping them to navigate the challenges of retail-driven creative production.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to optimize project workflows where high-speed production can be offset by AI, automation and templatization strategies
  • Stay up to date with retail and automotive industry trends, consumer behavior, and emerging technologies to keep campaigns relevant and competitive.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of project management experience in an advertising agency or related environment.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders within matrixed organizations.
  • Expertise in retail-driven, fast-paced creative environments, particularly in the automotive industry is preferred
  • Familiar with project intake and project close cycles
  • Background in fully integrated campaign management with experience across digital, social, print, and video.
  • Strong understanding of advertising and marketing principles
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Monday.com, JIRA, Smartsheets, asset review and approval tools)
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
