Job Description

As the Senior Project Manager, you will lead and deliver key projects and programs for TOMRA Food, ensuring they align with the organisation's strategic objectives and adhere to the TOMRA Food Project Model.

This role is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering assigned projects for TOMRA Food in alignment with the TOMRA Food Project Model. 

As a critical member of the Project Management Office (PMO), the Senior Project Manager role demands not only (technical) expertise but also a commitment to contributing to TOMRA Food's broader business growth beyond assigned responsibilities. 

Role & Requirements:

Project Leadership: 

  • Plan, execute, and deliver projects and programs within the Global Solutions portfolio to meet TOMRA Food's expectations and needs in accordance with the TOMRA Food Project model. 
  • Accountable for delivering large complex projects on time, in budget and to quality standards 
  • Schedule resources within the assigned project scope. 
  • Make project-related decisions within the framework of the approved project management plan. 
  • Able to run several large projects simultaneously 
  • Monitor project progress, manage budgets, and provide regular updates on status, risks, and performance for all assigned projects. 
  • Deliver monthly project reports for the Steering Group (SG) meetings, including decisions to be taken within the agreed deadlines.
  • Ensuring timely pre-alignment of decisions to be taken with the key stakeholders. 
  • Regularly update assigned projects on the TOMRA Project Portal to ensure clear communication and visibility. 

Operational Excellence:

  • Follow the Global Solutions resource allocation process effectively and act as an ambassador/example for the teams involved in the process.
  • Own and refine specific components of the TOMRA Food Project Model and TOMRA Food Project Academy. 
  • Provide actionable feedback to enhance both the Project Model and Academy continuously. 

Team Collaboration and Development:

  • Act as a mentor/coach to other Project Managers within TOMRA Food, fostering a culture of growth and learning. 
  • Deliver performance feedback to project core team members as part of the annual evaluation process. 
  • Support the efficient initiation of projects in line with the TOMRA Food Project model, before the official Project Start and ensure seamless project handovers to the line organisation at Project Closure.
  • Demonstrates a solution-oriented mindset, fostering productive collaboration with cross-functional teams. 

Qualifications

About You:

Leading the Business: 

  • Proven track record of delivering large, cross functional, international projects on time, to budget and quality 
  • 10+ years of project management experience, preferably in a technology- and/or product-oriented international company.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies with a strong track record of delivering on time, within scope and budget and with the right quality. 
  • Ability to translate goals into actionable results 
  • Ability to manage complexity and driving efficiency in global project environments 

Leading Others:

  • Excellent leadership skills with min. 5+ years in managerial positions. Strong focus on efficient teams and proven ability to create vision, goals and create results 
  • Experience in working on projects with a global team across different continents is a plus. 
  • Capable of inspiring and aligning cross-functional teams 
  • Ability to translate goals into actionable results 
  • Ability to manage complexity and driving efficiency in global project environments 

Leading Self: 

  • BSc, MSc, MBA degree in a relevant field. 
  • Project management certification (eg. Prince 2, PMP) 
  • Strong oral and written communication, strong presentation skills 
  • Analytical and strategic, with strong synthesis skills 
  • Fluent in English 
  • Sociable and caring, with good coaching skills 

Travel & Work Requirements:

  • Must be available to travel up to 30 days per year for business purposes. This may include domestic and international travel, depending on the needs of the company. 
  • Flexibility to operate in a cross-continent environment
