Job Description

Rockwell Automation is hiring!

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join us in Australia.

Reporting to the Project Management Lead, you will be responsible for project management, and the technical expertise required by the Lifecycle Services (LCS) Business. You hold main responsibilities in implementation of customers’ projects. You will manage the development of technical and commercial documentation required by projects and proposals.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Analysis, feasibility assessment and design of customer’s project requirements. Prepare cost estimates and technical documentation for proposals.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, always ensuring that defined Rockwell Automation approvals and delegation levels have been involved.
  • Manage projects following LCS project management implementation standards, methodologies and guidelines.
  • Ensure the quality, schedule and profitability of assigned projects.
  • Manage sub-contractors as part of specific projects and provide guidance to LCS Project Engineers on delivery of projects.
  • Make decisions on project resource requirements and scheduling. Escalate (i.e. bring to the attention of management) situations, which may get out of control.
  • Provide regular reports (i.e. at least monthly) to the Project Management Office (PMO) / LCS Business Manager about the status of each assigned project (time, scope, budget, customer satisfaction).
  • Maintain good relationship with customers and pursue all opportunities to generate revenue from RA products and services including application engineering contracts, retrofit contracts, training, documentation and support service agreements.
  • Guide, plan, coordinate and implement system design and testing activities, documentation revisions based on design criteria, on-site system start-up services and often serve as the interface to the customer’s start-up team and post-mortem and archiving activities.
  • You will also own and define project priorities and delivery of project expectations.
  • Identify any issues and mitigate risk among a project team
  • Ensure familiarity with company policies. Apply Policies and procedures in compliance with government laws including: QMS, PARB, iPM, Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering / computer science or equivalent
  • At least 10 years’ experience in project management
  • Manage portfolio of >5M AUD projects
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage complex high-risk contracts

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Post Graduate qualifications in Project Management or equivalent, Eg PMP
  • Experience in process and controls engineering solutions, within an EPC/EPCM project environment, or equivalent would be desirable
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation technologies and solutions, or equivalent would be desirable
